Readers Are Leaders

I have this poster hanging up in our classroom:

8 Ways To Become A Great Reader:

1. Read every day.
2. Read out loud with someone else.
3. Read about things that you like.
4. Take a book where ever you go.
5. Read everything you can, menus, signs, magazines...I love to read cookbooks!!
6. Talk about what you've read.
7. Keep a log of what you've read.
8. Be proud of your reading accomplishments!

Even though my boys are 12 and 9, they still love to sit and listen to me read them a good book. Sometimes we take turns, but sometimes it's nice to just sit back and let them listen.

But, there will be no reading aloud today...it's 55 degrees outside!  We're going out to enjoy this little peek of Spring!  (It won't last long!)
