Frequently Asked Questions...

I read...a lot. Just not "fiction" books. I can't explain why, it's just not my thing. Matt on the other hand, can and will read anything with words.

But I was reading a book last week. (It's my third time with this specific book.) Each time I've read it, something new jumps out that I've overlooked.

So, I read a question last week that I must have read at least two times before...

"Are you living your life in a way that is worth telling stories about?"

Now, I'm sure I've read that and thought, "Of course...I'm a stay @ homeschool mom and pastor's wife." Believe me, I HAVE STORIES....but those stories are about other people and the crazy things that my boys come up with.

What about me? What am I doing that others could tell stories about...(Keeping it nice, of course.)

So this time, I read the same question, but in a different way:

"Stacy, are you living a safe life? Are you living a life where you know, without a doubt what the next day will bring?"

My answers: Yes and yes.

Now, that's not always a bad thing. But...

"Too many of us pray as if God's primary objective is to keep us from getting scared. But the goal of life is not the elimination of fear. The goal, is to muster the moral courage to chase lions.
At some point in your life you have to make a choice between fear and boredom."
~Mark Batterson

Hmmm....how about this one:

"You're afraid? So what. Everybody's afraid. Fear is the common ground of humanity. The question you must wrestle to the ground is, will I allow my fear to bind me to mediocrity?"
~Andy Stanley

Great...I know the answers to my questions, but it's the answers I'm uncomfortable with.

Maybe I'll check out a few those "fiction" books...
