This is how I rate a movie...it's very simple:
1. How early in the movie did I look at the time?
2. Could I have waited to rent the Blu-ray?
I'm not going to review the movies I've seen so far. I don't really think about it too much. I either liked it or I didn't. I don't analyze movies or look for hidden meanings. I watch them...that's it.
Movies I have seen so far this summer:
~X-Men Origins: Wolverine
~Star Trek
~Night @ the Museum (Battle of the Smithsonian)
~Up (3D)
I frequent www.rottentomatoes.com quite often. And I almost always disagree with them. The percentage is either way too high...or way too low. But after looking up the four movies I've seen so far...I pretty much agree. (About 80%) Since we're talking percentages...
"Wolverine" received a 36%...I thought it was a bit low...but the movie, in no way was great. It was entertaining...I mean, after all it is Hugh Jackman.
"Star Trek" received a 95%...a bit high. I'm in no way a "trekkie"...I'm not even sure what that is. But for someone who knew very little (and I mean VERY little) about the it, I understood it. And I'm a huge "Heroes" fan. So it was cool to see Zachary Quint playing someone other than Sylar lately, so that was entertaining.
"Night At the Museum 2" received a 44%....again, a bit low in my opinion. But anything my boys enjoy should at least get a passing grade!
"Up" received a 98%...the highest of all scores. And this one I totally agree with. (It had nothing to do with the fact that I cried over a 3D animated movie!!!)
We'll see more movies throughout the summer. I'm sure Matt is looking forward to GI Joe. That's something that was around when he was young.
I'm still waiting for something that I could get really excited about. Something that brings me back....a full-length movie of something near and dear....
...."Jem and the Holograms", maybe??
Come on sing along....you know it.
"Jem... Jem is excitement! Oh, Jem... Jem is adventure! Oh... Glamour and glitter,
Fashion and fame! Jem...
Jem is truly outrageous! (Truly, truly, truly outrageous) Woo ooo Jem...
Jem the music's contagious (outrageous)
Jem is my name (No one else is the same) Jem is my name...Jem!"
