The Belle and My Boys

My boys on the Belle of Louisville
Today my family attended "Homeschool Day" on the Belle of Louisville. I had not been on the Belle in years and the boys had not been at all. We learned tons of history, which is something that Cameron loves! He will absorb all the info he can, then tell you what he knows, as if he's a steamboat historian.

I spent the majority of the cruise with Cameron. Caleb's allergies have been acting up and Matt sat there "sea sick"... on the Ohio River. And I'll just leave it at that. I've made fun of him enough, for one day. Next year, I think dad will stay home. ;)

Over 400 people were aboard the boat today. And just like in life, there are many types of people, as well as home educators. This was the largest event that we had ever attended, so it was nice to see so many people from all over the state.

So again tonight, I sit here and feel very blessed to be able to do what I love. I know that the thought of homeschool is not for everyone, but it works for us. This fall, will begin our 5th year as a homeschool family... And I couldn't be more thankful!

"Nothing is really work unless you would rather be doing something else."

My name is Michelle and I just happened upon your blog. My husband and I are about to start homeschooling our 5 year-old son. It's nice to see families having a positive nurturing experience with homeschool when so many people out there have negative thoughts about it. Blessings!
