My Big Stuff

Last week, I finally started back my "guy time" lunches... For lack of a better name - they are my guys and we eat lunch.

Thursday of last week, I took Cameron out.  We ate lunch - chicken, of course.  And Friday was Caleb's turn.  We ate sushi.

I even had dinner with Matt on Friday night... This is big stuff in my book.

Family time is very important... But I've also learned that getting these guys out by themselves is a real treat!  The conversations are as opposite as they are.

I recently told a friend (that only has girls) that a mother/son relationship is sometimes a little odd... We can't really do "girly" stuff.  So it's my job to find out what they're interested in and really make an effort to be interested in it too!

So I try... Because I know it's important.  I ask questions about video games, movies, and music.  And it's not that I'm necessarily interested in the latest video game or James Bond movie, but what I am interested in... is Caleb and Cameron.  :)

“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what.  If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big... because to them, all of it has always been big stuff.”   -Catherine M. Wallace
