This time of year just flies by. Every weekend is packed with something. And it only gets better as December rolls around....
Last night, we put up our Christmas tree and all the other festive decorations. How exciting. I just sat on couch last night and caught myself in a daze as I looked at the lights on the tree.
Our Thanksgiving was one of the BEST that we've had in long time. We met up with a fellow transplanted family and laughed until our ribs hurt. What wonderful people God has sent into our lives since moving here. I needed Thursday...more than they'll ever know.
Now don't get me wrong...I missed my family. And it really makes me feels bad when I have family members saying that they are "Praying us back." I feel bad because I know how much they miss us, but I also feel bad because, that's not a prayer that really needs to be said. How do tell someone you love that, "We are home and we love it here?"
I know God has many plans for our future. And part of those plans may include packing up and moving to our next "home state". But I am a firm believer in the cheesy statement, "Bloom where you are planted." Wherever God "plants" me for the moment...I will be thankful for the opportunity to serve Him. And if he uproots me and "plants" me elsewhere, I will be thankful for the opportunity to serve Him.
So what does this have to do with "still learning"?? Well, as a homeschool mom of "pastor's kids", I feel it our job to teach that very statement, cheesy or not. I've learned a lot in the ten years of being in the ministry and even more since homeschooling my boys. I will always teach them that no matter where you are, God is using you for great things. (Even if you are 12 hours away from mom and dad.)
And more importantly, I think that God may be getting MY heart ready....Caleb has told us that he believes that God is calling him to be a missionary.....just don't tell my dad! :o)
