Field Trip Time!!

Tuesdays have always been dad's day off. And more importantly, field trip days! But making the decision to leave NJ and plant a church, we must leave more than just our "comfortable life" behind.

Tuesday was our family day! We all looked forward to it. Getting up and having a "family breakfast" and then deciding what we were going to do...That was the best! Our trips to The Crayola Factory, Hersey's Chocolate World, Liberty Science Center, (Statue of Liberty) The Barnum Museum in Bridgeport, CT and many others were always done on Tuesdays...with dad.

(And Matt's favorite...anything we did in NYC)

Now that Matt is bi-vocational, (meaning he works a job outside of being a pastor) field trip days are going to have to be just me and the boys for a while. Of course that doesn't mean that dad would have to miss out on everything. The big "day trips" would be saved for Saturdays!! :)

One of the best things about homeschool, is that we can go to places during the day (and beat the weekend crowds). Which means more time for actual learning.

I've learned that most places like museums, aquariums, and other places like that have "Homeschool Days" which means big savings for us!! :)

So as we get used to this new chapter, we will also plan some exciting field trips and enjoy this time together...So where to go first???

*Recipe time* - One of our favorite dinners is "breakfast for dinner"... I asked Cameron today what recipe I should post and he said, "My favorite...Sausage Balls!" So this recipe is dedicated to Cam! :) It's great for kids to make and mine do a great job!

Sausage Balls

1 pound of breakfast sausage

2 Cups of shredded cheddar cheese

2 cups of baking mix (Bisquick)

Now get your "clean" hands ready to get dirty! :) By hand, mix the cheese and sausage together and slowly mix the Bisquick in a 1/2 cup at a time.

Roll into balls and bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes...and eat them warm!!
