Papaw, Me, and Matty
It's been a crazy month or so... My papaw passed away June 24th. I'm glad I was here. Three years ago when my mamaw died, I lived in New Jersey. I quickly packed up the boys and headed home...without Matt. This time, I was here with family and Matt was by my side. Family is important.
Then a holiday landed in the middle of the week! This year, Independence Day or July 4th was on a Wednesday. This can't happen. It really messed me up... But instead of cooking out in 106 degree weather, we decided to surprise the boys with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge and play in the indoor water park! What a blast... It was a needed break and I love going away with my guys.
I've been incredibly busy with church and the families that I'm honored to serve... I love my church family so much and I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to be in their lives. I'm blessed.
I said that I was taking the entire month of June off with no thinking about the upcoming school year... Well, I kinda took off more than that. Until last night... I was up until 1:30 this morning researching and purchasing curriculum. I feel a little better, but I still feel like I need to get my act together. But I'm still not stressing. I'm a homeschool mom and one thing I've learned about homeschooling - It will get done and my boys will be fine.
I've been cooking and taking pictures like crazy... The pictures I take are meant to be added to a blog, but life got in the way. How is it that my hubby can blog almost every day?? www.mattmonyhan.com
This is about the time every year when I can't wait for school to start so that life will get back to "normal"... And this is about the same time each year when I say, "What does normal even mean??"
I wanted to add this picture. I saw it for the first time at my Papaw's funeral. I was shocked when I saw this and how much Cameron looks like my dad!! Can you find my dad??
