I'm more than exhausted tonight... I'm not sure why I'm still awake. Today was the first day of school...homeschool, that is. It was a long, but successful day. I'm tired, but blessed.
Today was also the day that Caleb received his Invisalign Braces. They are so cool... He needs to wear them 22 hours a day, but he can take them out to eat. Which means he can eat apples, carrots, popcorn and even chew gum (for a few minutes) without any worries. He loves them. In the picture above and the one at the end, he actually has them on. Can't tell, can ya?
On the first day of school, I always have little treats waiting for the boys. Caleb started the 10th grade today, and Cameron started the 8th grade. And I will probably continue to leave treats on the table for the first day school when Caleb is senior.
The first day school is rough! Lots of sugar is needed... Well, let's just be honest. Sugar is needed everyday in this house. If a little sugar is good, even more sugar is better!! This next picture was about an hour into our day... Where are those boys?? At least I still had coffee.
All in all, it was great day. I've learned that it doesn't matter how well you plan, you must remain flexible. I wouldn't trade my homeschooling experience for anything. I love my boys. I thank God daily for the blessings in my life!
